Commitment to Diversity and Accessibility
Human Nature Hunting is committed to helping dismantle barriers to hunting and making our courses more accessible to those who are experiencing financial hardship through partial scholarships and extended payment plans.
Our scholarship fund has been built by contributions from past course participants and donations of our time and is growing as our community grows. In 2022, we formed a nonprofit, Nature and Community to further expand our efforts. Standard scholarship awards range from 15% to 30% off the Awaken the Hunter and Shellfish Forage tuition. In addition, we offer extended payment plans.
Scholarship Recipient Criteria
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and demonstrate financial need.
Applicants must submit a personal essay outlining their intentions for participating in a Human Nature Hunting program.
If requesting more than a 30% award, applicants may be asked to provide fiscal documentation (a copy of their federal tax return from within the past year) and/or verification of employment or Unemployment Documentation.
Scholarship recipients will be asked to complete a written summary about their experience at Human Nature Hunting and how the course has impacted their life.
Scholarship Review Process
All scholarship applications will be reviewed by the HNH Scholarship Committee who will consider financial need, community service, association with a marginalized community, and other special needs. Scholarship availability varies based on annual donations and demand. We also encourage you to seek other forms of funding from your community so that we can assist as many folks as possible with our limited resources.
If you require financial assistance to participate, please email your application package (essay and supporting documentation) here:
